Yoichiro Yoda
September 28 - October 12, 2003
While on a bus in 1994, Mr. Yoda saw a crumbling theater window on 42nd Street. That window was the catalyst for almost nine years of work. These oils on canvas draw on the architecture of the theaters of 42nd street, and the life that went on around and within them, to portray a feeling of unsettling loneliness, and an uneasy setting that does not get resolved any time soon; the feeling of immense loneliness in the city. |
These were paintings
in his exhibit: All works are oil on canvas, with dimensions given in inches. |
